I will dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
